  • NEMA 3R: Protects against falling rain, sleet, and external ice formation. This is the minimum you want for outdoor use. Most residential-grade outdoor chargers carry this rating.

Cable Management Is Weatherproofing

Your charging cable is the most vulnerable component in an outdoor setup. It sits on the ground, gets run over, freezes in puddles, and bakes in the sun. Protecting it dramatically extends the life of your charger.

Use a cable hanger or holster: Never leave your charging cable coiled on the ground.
